WHAT IS DYSPORT?

Dysport is a neuromodulator derived from the botulinum toxin Type A (abobotulinumtoxinA) approved by the FDA. Dysport, is made from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum; it is the same neurotoxin used in BOTOX Cosmetic,  like a Botox is a cosmetic injectable medication that helps reduce frown lines and wrinkles on the forehead and in the upper face.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT DYSPORT?

There are multiple ways to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, but one of the most effective ways to do so is through neuromodulators. Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA), one of the more popular neurotoxins on the market, is a prescription injection proven to help temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. 

HOW IS DYSPORT USED?

DYSPORT is injected with a micro-needle into the muscle(s) or areas that your individual needs require. The most requested areas of treatment and complaint are the forehead and outer eye area. One to three injections are usually given per muscle. 

WHAT IS DYSPORT INJECTIONS TREAT?

Dysport is primarily known as a form of wrinkle treatment. It’s  injected under your skin to still the targeted muscles. It’s considered noninvasive. This procedure is used for the treatment of glabellar lines, sometimes called frown lines, which are located between your eyebrows. The injections prevent the creation or deepening of wrinkles by restricting facial muscle movements.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF DYSPORT INJECTIONS?

Temporary side effects are possible. The dose to use Dysport is not the same as the dose of any other botulinum toxin like Botox, Xiomin or Jeuveau products and cannot be compared to the dose of any other product you may have used. Do not have Dysport treatment if you: are allergic to Dysport or any of its ingredients, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, such as Jeuveau, Botox, or Xeomin, have a skin infection at the planned injection site or are pregnant or breastfeeding. We strongly recommended it to ask your doctor if Dysport is right for you. Among the most common side effects are:

- Headache.

- Pain at the injection site.

- Inflammation in the injection site.

- Nose and throat irritation.
